Dance Baby Dance

Elizabeth started her dance class today. Let me just say she was so cute! She was not so happy with it at first, but she slowly began to come out of her shell. The more we go the more she will get into it. She looks adorable in her outfit and ballet slippers. We practiced a bit after her nap today and she just looked so cute doing the little moves. Before I got her dressed this morning she said to me "Mama are we going to put our foot on our ankle and dance like Cinderella?" OMG she is so ADORABLE!!!!! After class the teacher gives them lollipops, so after we got home I asked her what her favorite part of the class was and she said the lollipops! I was rolling. I met another Mom there who was so nice. She invited me to a Mommy and Me class that she runs at St. Andrews Church, I think we are going to try it out. It will be a good way to make some new friends. Here are pictures from this morning.

Now I want to just put a few things that Elizabeth has said or says in here for safe keeping:

Move asshole - she said that to Owen a few months ago. She got if from her Daddy who always says that to Owen. After she said it I thought I heard her wrong so I said "what" and Elizabeth said "yeah this fucking asshole just hit me in the back", I then said oh and turned around and laughed my head off!

Fwing = swing
Wamb = lamb
Yeyow = yellow
I'm a big girl to do it = I can do it, I'm a big girl

I need to get out so I can paint my whips = she said that while she was playing in my bathtub (no water) at the old house - I was putting on my lip gloss - it means I have to get out to paint my lips.

Odds and Ends

I was reading over my hand written journal last week. The journal is from the time that we decided to do IVF up until Elizabeth's first birthday. It was really neat to read and remember what we went through with the IVF, and then the excitement of finding out we were pregnant, and then of course my being convinced I was having a boy only to be over the moon about the fact that I was having a girl. I was also so happy to read that my ppd was not that big a deal. I suffered some ukie stuff, but not for long. It was there a few days, then I felt great, then it came around the time of my period, but then it left. I wrote so much about how I loved my baby to no end. How beautiful she was, how fun she was, how amazed I was, and how HAPPY I was. I'm so lucky that I did not get the horrible ppd that I've read some women have had. How blessed am I? Very very blessed. From day one I thanked God for my beautiful girl, and I continue to do so everyday. I need to forgive myself for having ppd (a dear friend told me that over the weekend). I think the way for me to move towards forgiveness is that I need to realize that I was really feeling normal emotions, yes I probably cried more than most new mothers, but most new mothers do feel the way I was feeling. I also need to remember that my life changed in a huge way, and I was not in any way prepared for it. I went from being a career woman living life in the fast lane, to stay at home Mom with no sleep. It was normal for me to feel like I was a little lost. I know I can move towards forgiving, because when I look back to the first six weeks I feel the love, the amazement, the joy, the blessing, the wonder, the happiness....it so helps to type this out, to remember that I was and still am sooooooo incredibly happy to be Elizabeth's Mommy. Thank you God for blessing me.

Ok, I had to get that out. Now I will move on to what we did today.

Elizabeth and I went to my sister's house today. Madison was there so Elizabeth was so happy. She loves that baby so much. It is beautiful to see them together. They hug each other! Madison is six months now, but she reaches out to hug Elizabeth (and gum her a bit!). It's so cute. Elizabeth spent a lot of time reading books to Madison, and Maddi seemed to love it. I just love watching Elizabeth with her. She changes her voice to talk to her, and she gives her these adorable smiles. I love it. I know Elizabeth would love being a big sister.

I have to say something, and I know this will probably sound crazy, but I need to get it out. Sometimes I don't think my sister likes my daughter. Don't get me wrong, I know she loves her, but sometimes the way she is with her seems like she doesn't like her. I can't explain it. I think my daughter feels it too. She certainly treats my sister much differently than she does Tom's sister. With Andrea she is crazy happy and full of joy. She adores Andrea. With my sister she just isn't the same. Kinda sad. Hmmm.

Excavator

"Look Mama,an excavator!" That is the word of the day, excavator. It is a construction machine that digs big deep holes in the earth. Elizabeth loves the hard machinery that she sees around our neighborhood. She was asking me the names of all of them, and since I had no idea I bought her a few books on same and we both got an education! Now I know the name of all of them. On the way to school today she was calling our the names of all the machines she saw working on the turnpike. So cute.

We had a busy day today. Elizabeth's grandparents came with us to class today. It was so nice. They got to see how her preschool works. I think they had a good time. After school we all met up with my sister-in-law, Andrea, for lunch. It was nice. After lunch Elizabeth and I went over to my friend Michelle's house. We played there until 5:00, and then headed home. Needless to say Elizabeth was beyond tired, and she was in bed by 7:15. Very tired girl. Tomorrow is going to be very busy too.

New Babysitter

A few weeks ago I put an ad up at FAU for a babysitter. I got a bunch of responses, and this past Sunday I hired a girl named Heather. Very nice girl, and she is so loving to Elizabeth. I had her come by today for a few hours. I did a bunch of stuff around the house, and she had a chance to get to know Elizabeth. They both had a good time. I think this is going to work out really great. As we were walking her out to her car Elizabeth took her hand, and said "Heather you are my friend". It was so cute. Then she gave her a big hug. Very good sign!

We went to music this morning, that was fun. While Heather was here one of the things I was able to do was get a bunch of pictures into frames. Most of them were ones of Elizabeth. Now I just need to decide where I'm going to display them.

I found out today that a good friend of mine (one that I have not seen in forever) is prego with her third baby. She was very very suprised, and not too happy at first, but now she is with the program. I'm so happy for her. The weird thing is I told her years ago that she would have another baby and she laughed at me and said "no way". Well I put my hands on her and said a little prayer, and look what happened!!!!! I'm not kidding, I really did that. I think it worked. AND if that is the case...Jamie you better watch out b/c I did the same thing to you!

This weekend we are going to be busy. Our old house is back on the market so we have to paint there tomorrow, and then Sunday we will take Elizabeth to do something fun.

Here are my pictures of the day:

Nothing Exciting

Well today was a nice day, nothing exciting. We went down to Broward to visit my Mom. Had a good time. Elizabeth loves to see her Gram. They colored together, and played. Very cute. After we left my Mom's house we went over to see Marlene and Madison. Madison had some little friends over and there was my little girl trying to keep up with the big girls! She was so adorable! We went out to eat at Long Horn for dinner, very good. So now I'm home, and ready for bed. I watched Lost, man is it GREAT this season. I love it! I'm going to go read a book and then pass out. I'm reading Heart Stopper by Joy Fielding (she is one of my favorites - I've read all of her books), it's a great book - yes I'm recommending it! Tomorrow we have music and our new babysitter is coming over for a "test run" in the afternoon. Ok, like I said nothing exciting :) No pictures...but I will take some tomorrow.

Honey I Got A Swingset!!!!!!

About two weeks ago we bought Elizabeth a swingset. We found a really great place in Palm Beach that let us try each swingset, and they had great prices to boot. So today the swingset arrived. I showed the guy where to set it up, and then proceeded to put Elizabeth down for her nap. Well she did not sleep a wink, she was so friggin excited about her swingset. I finally took her out of bed, and by that time the swingset was all set up. Well we spent 2 1/2 hours playing on the swingset this afternoon. It is AWESOME, and Elizabeth LOVES it! At one point Tom called while we were playing and Elizabeth very excitedly asked to talk to her Daddy. She got on the phone and said "Honey, I got a swingset!" She called him honey b/c she hears me call him that all the time. It was so cute. I think I'm almost as excited about it as Elizabeth is! She is going to get years of enjoyment from this. So without further delay here are some pictures of the swingset:

My little swing girl has become a bit of a photographer. She likes to take my camera and take her own pictures. I think I am going to get her that Fisher Price digital camera for her birthday. It is made for her age group, and they pad it up so it can be dropped. I think she would love it. Anyway here are a few pictures she took today.

Not too bad for a 2 1/2 year old! She is so much fun. Plus she says the funniest things, she just blows me away. Next week we start a dance class. I can't wait, she will wear tights, a leotard and ballet slippers. She is going to be so adorable!

Portability

Well Elizabeth and I went to the Property Appraiser's Office today. We had to turn in our paper work for the portability. After that we hit Petsmart, and then, by request of my little reader, the library. I just love taking her to the library, she is so cute about books. She loves to be read to, but she also loves the read the books by herself. Very busy morning. We had breakfast and lunch out today. After her nap we spent a good bit of time playing outside. She loves to be out in her backyard. We bought Mazy a chain and steak for the yard so she won't squeeze through the fence and go in the neighbors yards anymore. So far she seems ok with it. I am so tired tonight. Elizabeth was up at 4:00 having a bad dream. Once I finally got her settled again I could not fall back to sleep. I hope there are no bad dreams tonight.

Here is my picture of the day, plus a picture from the past.
